Just updated our BO environment form xi3.x to xi4.1 and SAP BW 7.3 and our Dashboards running successful in our portal (not SAP portal).
The approach I have is to simplify the overall process - so I am braking the rule "never touch a running system" :-) - but the maintenance is horrible!
Briefly explained:
- We have Dashboards (Xcelsius) which are published in our companies portal.
- The Dashboards itself are saved in the BW System - so they are not in the BOE Server!
- These Dashboards receive data from SAP BEx Queries.
- If the users would like to print one of the Dashboards, Crystal Reports will be called via Opendocument.
The question is now: Is it possible to call Dashboards via opendocument even they are not in BOE System?
For example: The Dashboards are displayed in the portal, after selecting the "print" option, the same Dashboard is been called via opendocument with the additional tag of printing as PDF directly (sOutputFormat=P).
I would like to get rid of Crystal as this is just a copy of the Dashboards only for printing purposes.
Is this possible, do you have a better, more suitable solution here?
